The Kennard Breakfast

When we moved to Bath to buy The Kennard, a friend introduced us to the local Farmers’ Market, the oldest in Britain.

There we found Nick from Southside Farm in Perrymead, who sells us eggs laid by his speckledy hens. He introduced us to Sandridge Farm, who also have a stall at the market selling their award-winning bacon and sausages.

Our bread comes from the famous Baker brothers at Hobbs House Bakery in the Cotswolds, while our organic Yeo Valley yogurt comes from the shores of Blagdon Lake, a few miles outside Bath.

The mushrooms, tomatoes and potatoes for our English breakfast are locally sourced, supplied by Hillside Farm in Sutton Wick.

Every morning, while our guests are still sleeping, we prepare a Fresh Fruit Salad with 10 different fruits, and we squeeze several dozen oranges into Juice which will go on our buffet beside our Home-made Granola, a wide choice of cereals, cheeses, pastries, spreads and preserves.

We offer a choice of 17 different leaf teas and 8 freshly-ground coffees, including Lavazza espresso.

All this is served from 8 am till 9.30 (10 am at weekends) in the former kitchen of the house, which is now a flamboyant Georgian breakfast room, with gilded mirrors and crystal chandeliers, on tables set with crisp linen, fine bone china, silver teapots and fresh flowers.
